Family-owned since 1987

A family business that makes its own shutters.

Advanced Window Shutters has been the leading producer of window shutters in WA since 1987. We make aluminium roller shutters and we fit them ourselves, so you always deal with the people who build your job.

Our story

Made in WA, by people you can talk to.

As an independent manufacturer, we can offer the widest choice of installation options, controls and colours, with the flexibility only a family-owned business can give you.

All our staff are trained in making, installing and servicing shutters, so whoever you speak to can answer any question about any part of a roller shutter. The person who visits to quote your job can also install it, so there is no hand-off and no guesswork.

We do not run a fancy sales pitch. We give you a straight price, all the details, and the time to decide.

The team

Meet the team.

Sasha

The owner

The person you see first. Sasha measures, prices and answers your questions, usually in about 15 minutes. A keen tennis player, an Eagles supporter, and never far from a coffee.

Keith

Lead installer

The most experienced installer in our history, and the one who sets our standard. Fussy and clean, nothing is too hard. Easily the fittest of the crew, he runs 20km and cycles 150km a week.

Heath

Chief technical officer

Runs the workshop and quality control, and checks every shutter before it leaves the floor. Plays ice hockey in goal, and the youngest of the team.

Ped

Co-owner

The other half of the business. You will rarely see him but you will often speak to him. Ped runs the office and workshop and can answer almost any technical question. A long-suffering Dockers supporter who likes a dark beer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Do quotes take a long time?

Usually 15 minutes or less. We do not stay for hours and we do not pressure you to buy on the spot. We leave the quote with you to decide in your own time.

How much does a shutter cost?

It depends on the size and whether it is manual, electric or remote. We can give you a rough price over the phone to help you budget, but it is best to measure on site for the real figure.

How much for a whole house?

That depends on how many windows you have, their size, and the controls you choose.

I have ordered electric shutters. Will they be connected the same day?

Yes. We always connect electric shutters on the install day.

When will my shutters be installed?

Usually between 2 and 10 working days. We also offer a super-rapid 1-day service for emergencies (conditions apply).

Is a check measure required?

No. Our sales staff each have at least 10 years in making, installing and maintaining shutters, so one visit covers everything.

I need a special colour for the pelmet. Will it take longer?

No. Non-standard colours run on the same timeframe as standard ones.

What are your payment options?

Cash, cheque, credit cards and EFT, with no surcharge.

Can I convert a manual shutter to electric?

Yes, and quickly. We remove the manual controls, fit an easy-to-use electric motor, and warrant the motor and our work for five years.

I have 24V power from solar. Can you supply 24V motors?

Yes. We usually supply 240V motors but can supply 24V motors for special installations.

When quoting, does the whole household need to be home?

No. We do not assume any particular family structure, and we do not need everyone there.

My shutter is broken. Can you fix it?

Yes. Unless the parts are highly specialised, which is rare, we can repair any make of roller shutter.

What is the maximum size for a roller shutter?

Our standard slat reaches 3.5m wide. Our larger 54mm slat goes up to 4.5m.
